Initially, this A6-flyer was supposed to be included
with the vinyl edition of the album "
THE DEAD HAVE COME", as well as the DoubleFeature-CD-edition.
But then I thought it was superfluous, so I didn't put it in. Not that it would have made much of a difference anyway.

This is such a numbingly dull topic. But, OK...

So, the question that keeps popping up is:

"

why did Anna-Varney use A.I. for the artwork of the album 'THE DEAD HAVE COME'

?"

, and the short answer is:

I didn't. It was the other way round.

One afternoon in 2023, I was playing around with generative A.I., most likely because I was (more or less unconsciously) trying to avoid working on other things. But I also wanted to see, if I could do anything "fun" with it. -- At first, everything looked like crap, but eventually I got lucky, when the engine generated an image of which I thought: "

Hmm, maybe I could turn this into a poster

" (for myself, to put up in my library). So, I worked on it for quite a while, until I liked it enough to think: "

Damn, I wish this movie actually existed!

". But since it obviously didn't, I created the general story in my head instead, because, in that moment, my imagination was inspired by the image before me (and the inner turmoil that had led me to write the prompt for it in the first place).

Over the next few weeks I sporadically returned to the A.I., to see, if I could get more "stills" for "my movie" out of it. It took a while (with a lot of photoshop editing), but eventually I had a few useable images.

At this point, consciously, this was all just

for my own "amusement"

.

At the time, I was working on another album of a different title. I had already finished the coverart (the traditional, old-school way), but I just could not find access to the music/lyrics. In my head, there was only anxiety and depression, and I did

NOT

want the album to be like that.

But when it became clear that I just could not put a "positive" spin on any of it, I looked for something else I could do instead, to get out of this cycle. So I started writing the music/soundtrack for the imaginary movie I had in my head, entitled "

THE DEAD HAVE COME

", with its posters and stills

that I

already

had

There. That's how it happened. Now you know.

I have no further interest in generative A.I.

(in case you were worried/wondering)

.

In fact, the whole thing

really

gets on my nerves now. It was fine and "fun" for a minute, but I am done with it (

"THE DEAD HAVE COME"

and

"DEA MUTÁRION"

are still fab, though!). -- However, back then, I

did

create three more images for yet

another

imaginary movie, which I may or may not compose the soundtrack for in the future. If/when I do, and that same question comes up again, I will simply direct people to

THIS blog entry

here (yes, the one that you have just read).

And now I need tea...

P.S.:
Back then, I had no idea about the ecological impact of those massive data-centres that all the A.I.-stuff apparently requires (I am clearly naive and uneducated). But now that I do know, it's only further reasons to stay away from this nonsense.
